Food Aversions

If you are expecting, of late, you may have a repulsive feeling when you smell certain aromas. For instance, you may feel repelled by the aroma of a cup of coffee or your regular bologna sandwich. You may start disliking certain foods that you used to enjoy eating earlier. You may experience such food aversions due to rapidly growing amounts of estrogen into your system when you become pregnant.


Frequent Urination

Once you conceive, the rate of blood supply to your kidney increases significantly due to hormonal changes occurring in your body. So, your urinary bladder fills up quicker than usual and you tend to urinate frequently. Usually, frequent urination begins around sixth or eighth week of pregnancy.


Abdominal Bloating

You may experience abdominal bloating during the initial phase of your pregnancy when your uterus is still small. It occurs due to the hormonal changes occurring while you are expecting.


Fatigue

Do you feel exhausted all of sudden? Well, that can be a symptom of pregnancy. Increasing levels of progesterone in your system while you are expecting may make you feel tired and sleepy. You may feel sluggish and exhausted soon after completing one week after conceiving. Sluggishness and fatigue continue during the first and third trimester.


Dizziness

Fainting and dizziness are most common symptoms that indicate that you are pregnant. Conditions like dilating blood vessels and low blood pressure that develop during pregnancy may make you feel dizzy. Even lower sugar levels in blood may make you feel dizzy.


Headaches and back pain

You may suffer from frequent mild headaches if you have conceived. Chronic back pain is another significant symptom of pregnancy. So, do not ignore if you suffer from headache or back pain when you plan to start family.


Sore breasts

Swollen, sensitive breasts are other common symptoms of pregnancy. Your may develop sore and swollen breasts, particularly in the first trimester of your pregnancy, due to increased levels of hormones in your system. The discomfort reduces after your first trimester.


Spotting and cramping

Once you conceive, the fertilized egg gets attached to your uterus wall. As the fertilized egg settles into the lining of your uterus, you may experience spotting and cramping, particularly any time from sixth to twelfth day after fertilization of the egg. This is known as implantation bleeding. Besides spotting, you may notice milky, white discharge from your vagina that occurs due to vagina lining’s increased cell growth.


Constipation

You may suffer from constipation when you get pregnant. Increased levels of progesterone in your body make the food pass at slow rate through your intestines, thus causing constipation hazards. Drink ample of water and add fiber-rich foods to your diet to alleviate the constipation troubles.


Morning Sickness & Food Craving 

Nausea, also popular as morning sickness, is the most popular symptom of pregnancy. You may suffer from nausea due to hormonal changes. You might develop strong dislike for the food that you used to enjoy just yesterday. Also, you may develop cravings for eating certain foods, such as tamarind. Morning sickness and food cravings may last throughout pregnancy.


A Missed Period 

If you have a regular menstrual cycle and happen to miss a period, then that can be a sign indicating you are expecting. But, not all missed or delayed periods means you are pregnant. Consult your doctor if you miss a cycle or go for a pregnancy test to confirm your pregnancy.


High Basal Body Temperature 

If you have been keeping a track of your basal body temperature and if you notice that your body temperature has been increased for over couple of weeks then that can be an indication of your pregnancy.
